(Gabor) Andor (24.1.1884, s. of uynep, -21.1.1953,
Budapest), Hungarian writer. Members of kommunistich. of party
from 1919. Budapest university finished. In the first
verses and the satirical feuilletons it ridiculed inert, average man's
dispositions. It participated in revolutionary events 1918-19 in
Hungary. In 1920 it emigrated to Vienna, into 1926 - into
Berlin, into 1933-45 it lived in THE USSR. In its verses g. it
revealed white terror and khortistskuyu reaction (coll. it was verse
the "native land my", 1920). It wrote antifascist stories and
articles. The rest im. Kossuth (1953).
