(Gabor) Dennis (Denesh) (r. 5.6.1900, Budapest),
physicist, the founder of holography. Members. British of queens, society (1956).
Honorary member Hungarian AN (1964). It graduated from
tech. university in Budapest and highest tech. school in Berlin.
In 1927-33 it worked in Germany. In 1934 it emigrated to
Great Britain. In 1949-67 it taught in the London university
(with 1958 Prof.). With 1967 leader of Stanford laboratory
Columbian radio-propheticcAt of system. In 1948-51 it built the
general theory of holography and the first holograms were obtained,
while into 1956 designed first golografich. microscope. G.
