the method of the synthesis of primary amines by interaction of organic halogen derivatives with phthalimide of potassium (I) with the subsequent hydrolysis of the generatrix of N- substituted phthalimide (II):

Hydrolysis is achieved by heating with the alkalis, acids or hydrazine hydrate. G. the r.- convenient method of obtaining the individual primary amines, widely used in the laboratory practice and chemically -farmaqevtic. industry (for example, with the synthesis of pilokarpine). G. r. is opened into 1887 by Ger. chemist 3. By Gabriel (S Gabriel).
