the high-voltage (from 35 to 275 kV)
cable is electrical, whose voids of the insulating
layer (paper tape or synthetic film) are filled with gas (usually by
nitrogen) under the pressure. Are distinguished g. k. of low
(from 0,07 to 0,15 MN/m2), average (from 0,3 to 0,5 MN/m2) and high (from 1,5 to 3 MN/m2) pressure. G.
k. usually carry out in the general metallic shell with the continuous
or condensed sectorial veins, covered several with layers of
insulating material. G. k. are one- and three-strand in the lead
or aluminum shell and three-strand in the steel conduit.
Advantages g. k. - simplicity of the makeup of cable line by
gas, convenience in the production of the cable of large length with
the pre-impregnated isolation, which is especially important for the
underwater padding. However, g. k. have comparatively low elec.
strength of isolation, which in means, to measure it depends on a
change in temperature and gas pressure.
