Azat (pseudonym; this surname and name Of mamikonyan
Azat Of setovich) (17. 7. 1894, g. of vans, Zap. Armenia, 26.
3. 1958, Yerevan), Armenian Soviet poet. Members of
CPSU - Communist Party of the Soviet Union from 1918. Kind.
in the family of teacher. It learned in Istanbul; he
was the listener Of sorbonny (1911 -14). From 1914 it lived in
Tbilisi, then in Yerevan. It participated in the fight for the
establishment of Sov. authority in Transcaucasia and Crimea (1917-
1920). It conducted the leading work in the lit. organizations
of Sov. Armenia. The first coll. is verse in. the "strings
of my heart" it left into 1915. In the sb -kax the "new east"
(1923), "salamname" (1924), "east in the fire now" (1927) v. sang the
waked up "bubbling east". The themes of the friendship of
peoples, building of socialism predominate in the sb -kax:
"compositions" (1935), "verses and poem" (1936), "love and
hatred" (1946), "compositions" (1956). In verses v. are inherent
combat spirit, new comprehension of E. poetic means, Muzas sounding
verse.
