Proliferous birds

(nidifugae, or praecoces), bird, in the nestlings of which the eyes and ear openings are opened already with the hatching or are opened soon, downy detail is well developed; they are capable of independently being moved (to walk, to run), the thermostatic control early is established in them, mn. can independently find food. V. p. - one of osn of the subdivisions of birds according to the nature of the postembryonal development (cf. nestling birds).

The behavior of nestlings v. p. is different: in bol'shenogikh hens the nestlings immediately on the hatching can flutter and it is completely independent from the parents; - they feed independently in duck and cranes, but they are held with the parents; in some hen - they follow the parents, who indicate food to them; the parents bring up in shepherds, toadstools of nestlings.
