(Rutilus frisii), fish Karpovs's seven. Dl. of
body to 75 cm, weighs to 6 kg. It is extended in the ponds of Black
and Azov seas, it rises along the rivers highly upward from the mouth.
It throws roe into 2-1 floors of May in the stony sections of
river with the rapid and pure water and the stony bottom. It
feeds mainly by the ground mollusks, whose the shells it crushes by
powerful throaty teeth. In bas.ch. Caspian m. dwells a
special subtypeof kutum. V.-
valuable trade fish. Number is small and continues to be reduced
because of the unfavorable conditions of reproduction.
