Yevgeny Vladimirovich [ 25.5 (6.6).1885, Simferopol',
21.12.1941, Leningrad ], Soviet botanist. In 1903- 1906 it
learned in the Moscow university; Viennese university finished
(1909). It worked in The the nikitskom of botanich. to garden
near Yalty(y9yya- 1926); from 1926 in Leningrad - in the
All-Union institute of plant growing and with 1934 Prof. ped. the
institute im. Pokrovskiy. Osn of work on raises, to the peace of
the Crimea (into 1927 it began the publication "Flora of the Crimea"),
volatile-oil, tanning and medicines, to plants, to systematics section
of taxons, on the history of botany. Special importance have
transactions in the geography of plants ("introduction into the
historical geography of plants", 2 publ., 1933; "the historical
geography of plants. History of flora of the terrestial globe ",
1944). It participated in the creation by multivolume "cultural
flora OF THE USSR" (1935).
