Wulfen; 1728 - 1805), mineral, the chem. composition Pb [ MoO.s
] (MoOz-38,6%). Are formed the small tabular crystals of square
system, colorless or orange, with the diamond luster in the fracture.
Are encountered also reddish- brown grainy aggregates and
powdery masses. Tv. on mineralogich. to scale 3,0-3,5, density
6500- of 7000 kg/m3. V. is formed in the zone of the
surface oxidation (see the zone of the oxidation of
layers) of the layers of the lead ores, which
contain the admixtures of sulfides mho by usual satellites v. they
appear brown hydroxides of iron, pyromorphite, vanadinite , etc. is used as ore for the
smelting of lead, it is thinner than molybdenum. G.
