Howitzer is the gun

For the first time G.- p. were tested into 1915 in Germany. After 1st world war 1914-18 they appeared also in the armies of other countries (Netherlands, France, THE USA, THE USSR); widely they adapted in the course of 2-1 world war 1939-45. In the Sov. army in the period of the great of the fatherlands, war 1941- of 1945 it were used by 152-mm G.- p. of model 1937 in the towed and self-propelled version. Further development G.- p. occurs along the line of the creation of similar type instruments, which have more powerful projectile and possessing the long range of the shooting (see also instrument artillery).
