Hawkeye-bosak (Hauke-Bosak) Jozef
(19.9.1834, Warsaw, 21.1.1871), Polish revolutionary. From 1855
on the service in the Russ. army (in KON. 1862 it left into the
resignation in the rank of Colonel). In autumn 1863 - in spring
1864 under the pseudonym. Bosak led uprising in the SW part of
the kingdom of Polish. After the defeat of uprising adjoined
revolyutsionno-demokratich. to wing it was Polish. emigration.
In autumn 1870 during Franco-Prussian War 1870-71 entered The
vogezskeye army, rukovodimuyu J. Garibaldi and appeared on the side of
Frenchmen. It perished in combat in the environs of Dijon.
