(Bibos gaurus), artiodactyl animal of the kind
of bulls seven of Cavicornia (Bovidae). Sizes are large:
dl. of the body of adult male ok. 3 m, vye. in the withers to 2,2 m. Females somewhat smaller.
Painting back it is lateral brownish black, the bellies -
yellowish-brown; feet dirtyish- are white. Horns are
very massive (their length along the straight line it reaches 83 cm). Is extended g. in
India, Burma and on the Malaccan peninsula. Gregarious
polygamic animal. It lives by the small herds (on 5-12, rarely
30-40 heads) in the extensive mountain forests, preim. on vye.

level. The night means of life conducts. It feeds by
grassy vegetation, leaves and flights of trees and bushes.
Pregnancy 8-9 mo.. From July through October of female they give birth to on
one calf by reddish- borax of painting. As a result of the
destruction by man the number g. sharply was reduced. They hunt
on g. for the skin and the meat, which is characterized by high
gustatory qualities. G. is domesticated; domestic form
