Departments together with the uc.- the systematic conduct scientific -issledovat. work, prepare monographs, develop programs, textbooks and uch.-metodich. of benefit. In all departments VPSH (except lingual) work 120 instructors, in Vol. h. of the doctors of sciences and the professors 21, the candidates and docents 99. VPSH assumes to the protection of thesis upon the competition of the scientific degrees of Cand. and doctor of sciences. To the studies in VPSH are received as the members of party with higher education, at the age of up to 40 years, that have of desks, period not less than five years. The reception of listeners is carried out by the CC CPSU for the recommendation OF TSK KP of union republics, territorial commitees and regional committees of party. Period of the instruction of 2 years. In VPSH are organized the permanent courses on the retraining of the leading desks, and Sov. workers. VPSH renders aid the socialist countries in training of personnel for the desks, and the State of work. VPSH finished ok. 10 thousand desks, and the State of workers and SV. 14,5 thousand passed course retraining. In 1970 were trained 720 listeners.
